The study explores the optical transitions in β-Ga2O3, a material with a wide bandgap crucial for power electronic devices. Using polarization and temperature dependent photoluminescence excitation spectroscopy, researchers uncover three distinct optical transitions, two of which align with known transitions. However, a third peak does not match theoretical predictions, challenging previous assignments. The findings provide valuable insights into the material’s optical properties, highlighting potential discrepancies between experimental results and theoretical calculations.
